Jay Adkisson is one of the nation's most prominent Asset Protection Planners.  Jay Adkisson earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1988, and was a member of the Oklahoma Law Review.  He has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Oklahoma (1989), Texas (1993) and California (2007), the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th, 10th, and 11th Circuits, and numerous federal district courts nationwide.

Mr. Adkisson has twice been an expert witness to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, regarding various tax scams.  But perhaps Mr. Adkisson is best known as the creator of Quatloos! - an entertaining and informative website found at http://www.quatloos.com/ that exposes financial scams and tax frauds.  Mr. Adkisson has been featured in connection with Quatloos! on ABC's 20/20 and widely throughout the financial and popular press.  Mr. Adkisson and Quatloos! were also the feature of an article in Forbes' Best of the Web.  He has also been featured on Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the New York Times, BBC Radio, National Public Radio, and Money.

Mr. Adkisson's first book, co-authored with attorney Chris Riser of Atlanta is entitled "Asset Protection: Concepts and Strategies" was released by McGraw-Hill in July 2004.  In 2006 Jay published "Adkisson's Captive Insurance Companies: An Introduction to Captives, Closely-Held Insurance Companies and Risk Retention Groups" which has become the best-selling guide to captive insurance companies.  He is also the author of "Equity-Indexed Annuities: The Smart Consumer's Guide." (2006), which discusses this advanced form of fixed annuities.  This book gives a balanced look at one of the use of one of the most popular financial tools ever to be sold, including when the cannot be used, suitability issues, and understanding their basic operation.

Professional Experience:

Mr. Adkisson is currently the Asset Protection Planner for Select Portfolio Management, Inc.  He is also a Registered Representative (NASD Series 7, 65, 63 & 4) with Securities Equity Group, Member FINRA, SIPC & MSRB.  Experienced as a commercial litigator and trial attorney, Mr. Adkisson learned debtor-creditor law while resolving complex cases that arose from the Savings & Loan crisis.  In fact, Mr. Adkisson is perhaps the only well-known asset protection planner who has significant litigation experience.  Because of his experience and insights, Mr. Adkisson has been a much sought-after lecturer, and his speaking engagements have included presentations to the American Bar Association and various atate bar associations.  Mr. Adkisson has also been a featured speaker at a series of seminars hosted by the national Business Institute.

Adkisson Publishing, LLC, of which Mr. Adkisson is the editor, maintains a number of unique online collections of laws and court opinions relating to contemporary debtor-creditor issues, including fraudulent transfers, asset protection trusts, spendthrift trusts, charging order protection, alter ego, and attorney ethical issues.

After losing his eye to deadly choroidal melanoma cancer in 2000, Jay started the first internet website at http://www.losteye.com/ that was dedicated to addressing the concerns of those who had lost an eye to whatever cause.  This website has provided substantial information and support to tens of thousands of such persons worldwide.  In 2006 Jay published the book "Lost Eye: Coping with Monocular Vision after Enucleation or Eye Loss from Cancer, Accident, or Disease" to assist others with the physical changes and psychological trauma occasioned by the loss of an eye.Securities offered through
