As a Wealth Advisor, Dave's role is to help financially successful individuals, families and business owners uncover opportunities to improve their overall financial situation through the implementation of wealth management strategies normally reserved for the highly affluent.
Dave understands that the successful implementation of an integrated wealth management plan begins with an overall strategy. He listens closely to his clients to understand their unique goals and objectives as well as their personal risk tolerance. Dave's knowledge of industry leading planning tools helps his clients gain a deeper insight into how their investment, legal, tax, insurance, and cash flow strategies complement each other.
Dave draws on his two decades of experience at Hewlett Packard and his MBA education to assume the role as Wealth Advisor, Investment Advisor, Insurance Professional, or Plan Architect, depending on the client and their existing need. He knows how to work with a client's existing advisers while also including and coordinating additional team members who offer a well-rounded set of skills to achieve the client's goals.
Once Dave helps his clients develop and implement their individualized wealth management plan, he monitors the plan's effectiveness. He proactively makes recommendations to his clients in response to their plan's overall effectiveness to reflect changes in their life, goals, and objectives.
Professional Experience
Dave Jones is an Investment Advisor Representative and Wealth Advisor for Select Portfolio Management, Inc (SPM). He is also a Registered Representative (Series 7, 63, and 66) with Securities Equity Group, member FINRA, SIPC, MSRB. After a 24 year career with Hewlett Packard and a 15 year focus on his own financial planning, Dave discovered that most advisors used basic approaches targeted for the general public that were not customized for his specific situation, goals, time frames or risk tolerance. The basic approaches were very inefficient and lacked the integrated wealth management approach used by the more affluent.
He was introduced to SPM and immediately became a client due to their unique capabilities and comprehensive, integrated approach toward wealth management. Dave then followed his passion for personal financial planning and joined the SPM team as an Investment Advisor Representative and Wealth Advisor.
Using the same discovery process he experienced as a client of SPM, Dave listens to his clientele to learn what challenges might be affecting them today, as well as their future financial goals. With a consultative approach, as well as SPM's 200 years of combined advisor experience and team concept, Dave identifies gaps between his client's current strategies and their goals and objectives. Working together, a personalized and comprehensive wealth management plan is developed. He then continually educates his clientele on designs and implementation of some of the most advanced and proven wealth management strategies in the marketplace to help guide them toward achieving their overall wealth management goals.
